Thanksgiving is here and that means Black Friday sales are nearly upon as well well, with many stores opening their doors this afternoon and evening, rather than waiting for actual Friday. As a result, we thought that we would give you a rundown of some of the best sales that you’ll find out there on both games and systems this Black Friday.
PlayStation 4 Bundles
Since they will be the most standard out there, we will start with the console deals. The going rate for PS4 Slim 500GB Uncharted 4 bundles is going to be $249.99, but there are a few add-ins at certain retailers. Best Buy will be including both Ratchet & Clank and the Last of Us, while Gamestop will be including just The Last of Us Friday only. Walmart will not be throwing in any games, but will add in a $30 gift card. For those that just want a regular PS4, Costco has a bundle with a PS4 500GB system , Uncharted 4, and two DualShock 4 controllers for $279.99. Those looking for deals on the PS4 Pro are mostly going to be out of luck, with Best Buy only offering a PS4 Pro and a Toshiba 55″ 4K TV for $749.99 as the only deal.
Xbox One Bundles
The Xbox One has two different bundles that are discounted on Black Friday, with the going price also being $249.99, all of which are variations of the newer Xbox One S. The Xbox One S 500GB Minecraft bundle and Xbox One S 500 GB Battlefield 1 bundle will come with an extra controller for free at Sam’s Club, while Dell is offering the Xbox One S 500 GB system with an extra controller, Battlefield 1, and Gears of War 4 for the same price. The only price lower is going to be found at Costco, where you can get the Minecraft bundle for $239.99. Costco is also offered an Xbox One S 1TB Battlefield 1 bundle with an included Elite Controller for only $399.99 as well.
Pretty much every retailer that sells game systems will have brand new New Nintendo 3DS models out that are black and white Super Mario themed series. What makes this a great deal is that these will be on sale for only $99.99, making it a fantastic option for people to pick up this holiday season.
Moving onto the games there are plenty of games that have released over the last year or more that are discounted, with many retailers having the same price, so we’ll discuss some of the biggest games you might be looking for and where you can find them cheapest. We’ll go through these alphabetically, so that should help you find ones you are perhaps looking for. Also, remember that Best Buy does not allow you to use your Gamer’s Club Unlocked discount on top of these sales, as that price is already built in.
Deals on Games
Battlefield 1 is definitely going to be one of the biggest games people are looking for on Black Friday and you should be able to find it at a discounted price, with one retailer being the best. Target is going to have the game for $35 and GameStop for $40, but the best sale by far is at Walmart where the game is only $27.
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Legacy Edition is another hot item that people will be looking for, with it being pretty standard in sale price. Best Buy, Target, and Gamestop will each have the normally $80 game for $60, but Walmart will have it for $57. For those looking for just the regular version without Modern Warfare Remastered, you can get it at Target for $35.
Dark Souls 3 was another big release earlier this year and it is definitely in the realm of affordability this Black Friday. Best Buy and GameStop will have it for $20, while Target will have it for $25. However, the best deal here is once again at Walmart for $15.
Destiny: The Collection released back in September and included the new Rise of Iron expansion in addition to all previous content over the previous two years. Walmart and GameStop will have this one for $35, but both Best Buy and Target will be a little cheaper at $30.
Deux Ex: Mankind Divided is another recent release and has some solid sale prices. Walmart is offering the game for $35, while Best Buy and Gamestop have it for $30. The best price though is going to be at Target where the game is only $25.
Doom may have released earlier this year, but it is definitely one of the best single player shooter experiences in years, so you definitely will want to give it a shot. Target has it for $25, and Best Buy and GameStop have it for $20, but the best deal here is at Walmart for only $15.
Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is one of the more recent releases to be marked down for Black Friday, but it also has one of the best sale prices at more than one retailer. Best Buy, Target and Walmart will all have the game on sale for $25.
Dragon Quest Builders was the recently released Minecraft-esque game that fit perfectly with the aesthetics of the Dragon Quest franchise, which followed another spin-off in Dragon Quest Heroes from last year. For those looking for either, Dragon Quest Builders will be $40 and Dragon Quest Heroes $10 at GameStop on Black Friday.
Fallout 4 released last fall and has been on sale many times since then. However, if you somehow have not picked this game up by now, you will find some good sale prices here. The game will be $25 at Walmart $20 at Best Buy and Gamestop, and only $15 at Target.
A somewhat under the rader, but still very quality game that released earlier this year was Far Cry Primal. While it is only discounted to $25 at Gamestop, the trio of Best Buy, Target, and Walmart will have it for $15.
FIFA is one of the biggest franchises each and every year, and this year’s was one of the best yet. For those that do not have FIFA 17 yet, you can get the game for $40 at Gamestop or $30 at Target.
Gears of War 4 is another of the recent releases on this list and has not really been on sale yet. However, that is changing with GameStop and Walmart having it for $35, while Target will have it for only $30. For those also looking for Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, Best Buy will have that for $15, even though you might can get that cheaper elsewhere.
The always popular Grand Theft Auto V is definitely holding it’s pricepoint well with the sales still being massive, but those looking to get it will find a deal this Black Friday. Best Buy and Target will have it for $35, Gamestop for $30, and even Walmart for $25.
The recently released Just Dance 2017 is also going to be on sale not long after coming out, with Walmart having it for only $25, which is a really good day for a game that new.
Kirby: Planet Robobot released back over the summer and is yet another fun game in the long running Kirby franchise. Only one retailer has this one listed as being on sale, which is Target for $25.
LEGO Dimensions released last year and has had a ton of different packs, but if you’re looking to jump in with the starter pack, Black Friday may be the perfect time. Best Buy, Walmart, and GameStop will all have the starter pack for $40. However, GameStop is throwing in an exclusive Green Arrow mini-fig, so you may want to get it there if you can. Staying with LEGO, LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be $25 at Best Buy, with the Deluxe Edition being $35 at Walmart.
Like with FIFA, Madden is a juggernaut that always sells well. If you were hesitant to pick up the latest edition, the sale prices for Black Friday may entice you to change your mind. GameStop will have the game for $40 and Target for $30, but the best deal is at Walmart for $27.
Mafia III is another recent release that sold much better than expected despite okay reviews. For those that didn’t want to pay full price, GameStop will have it for $40, Walmart for $35, and even $30 at both Best Buy and Target.
Mirror’s Edge Catalyst released earlier this year and did not really do all that well, quickly being discounted at many retailers. However, if you did not pick it up for cheap at this point, Best Buy will have the game for $20.
MLB The Show 16 was Sony’s latest annual baseball game and it managed to step it back up after the mediocre game in 2015. For those looking to get it, you can’t go wrong with the $15 price at both Best Buy and Walmart.
Keeping it in the sports realm, NBA 2K17 is also on sale on Black Friday at a number of retailers. GameStop has it for $40, Best Buy and Target both have it for $30, but the best option is at Walmart for only $27.
Rounding out the main sports titles, NHL 17 is also on sale for Black Friday. GameStop will have the game for $40, while both Target and Walmart will have it for $35.
Called perhaps one of the most disappointing games ever, No Man’s Sky has had a rough few months since launch. However, a sale price might be the thing to get more people to try it out, which is what you’ll find here. Target and Walmart will have the game for $25, while GameStop will have it discounted to $20.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, Overwatch has been one of the best releases of the year that has satisfied games everywhere. The game will be on sale at Best Buy, Target, Walmart, and GameStop for $35, but the latter will be throwing in a special Baby Winston figure, so it’d be worth getting it there.
While Pokemon Sun and Moon just literally came out and of course won’t be on sale, there are some other Pokemon games on sale that are worth mentioning since they rarely so on sale. Pokemon X and Y will be only $20 at Best Buy for $20, while Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire will be only $25 at Walmart. In addition, Pokken Tournament will be on sale for $35 at both Best Buy and Target.
Rainbow Six Siege was criticized for a lack of content at launch, but it has proven to have really strong legs after excellent word of mouth following updates. This makes it one you may want to look for this Black Friday and it has some really good sale prices. Best Buy and GameStop will have it for $20, but Target and Walmart will have it for less at $15.
Ratchet & Clank got a much needed reboot earlier this year and both looks and plays great. For anybody looking for a fun platformer, you can get it for really cheap this Black Friday. Walmart will have it for $25, Target and Best Buy will both have it for $15. However, the best deal by far is GameStop for only $10.
A platformer style game that disappointed on the other hand was Recore, but a lesser price may make it worth at least giving a try. Best Buy and GameStop will have the game for $20, while Target and Walmart discount the game to $15.
Rise of the Tomb Raider released for Xbox One last holiday season and recently came to PS4 as the 20th Anniversary Edition, which will be on sale for $40 at Best Buy and $35 at GameStop. No specific sales were listed for the Xbox One version, but it was already available at a lesser price since the extra content wasn’t included.
Skylanders Imaginators is another very recent release and those looking to try out the latest in the series will find a discount on the starter pack for Black Friday. GameStop will have the game for $45, while Best Buy, Target, and Walmart will have it for $40.
Even newer of a release is The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition, which is discounted already here. Target and GameStop will have the game for $30, while Best Buy and Walmart will be even cheaper at $25.
Street Fighter V released earlier this year and has had its fair share of controversies. However, there is no question it’s a great game fighting wise and you can find it on sale for $20 at Best Buy and $15 at Target on Black Friday.
Titanfall 2 is yet another October release to be discounted, though it has been on sale through various flash sales as of late. On Black Friday, you can find the game for $40 at GameStop, $35 at Best Buy and Target, and even $27 at Walmart.
Tom Clancy’s The Division was a great example of a game with a lot of promise that faltered due to bad update decisions by the developer. The game has been improved as of late with a newer update, so it might be worth picking up for those that didn’t in the past, as you can find it for $25 at Best Buy, Target, and Walmart.
Disappointingly, Uncharted 4 is not on sale anywhere for Black Friday for some reason, possibly because of it being a part of the bundles as well. However, for those that want to see the journey before 4, Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection is on sale at both Best Buy and Walmart for $15.
The Witcher 3 was one of the best games of 2015 and only got better with its fantastic DLC expansions, which were combined into The Witcher 3 Complete Collection. Walmart will have this game for $35, while GameStop will have it for $30 and Best Buy will have it for only $25.
World of Final Fantasy released just last month as a more classic based RPG prior to the release of the much more modern Final Fantasy XV. The game is definitely worth checking out for fans of the series due to plenty of fan service, and you can find it for $40 at GameStop and $35 at Walmart.
The last game we’ll mention is The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD, which released earlier this year for Wii U. For those looking to get this, Walmart will have it for $25. Unless Walmart has a special cheaper Black Friday SKU, this should come with the Wolf Link amiibo as well.
