Nintendo Wii U Launch Still on Track for 2012

Nintendo will be bringing the Wii U to the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas next month.  The company which unveiled the next generation console at E3 earlier this year, told 1up that they don’t have any plans to reveal any games that we haven’t already seen.

Nintendo issued the following statement surrounding the CES attendance confirmation:

“Nintendo of America, working with the 2012 International CES management, will offer demos of the upcoming Wii U console to members of the media who did not see the system at the 2011 E3 Expo,” the company said.  “However, Nintendo will not have a booth at CES, nor does it plan to include any games, experiences or information beyond what was available at the 2011 E3 Expo.  Production and development efforts remain on track for the Wii U launch, which will take place between the start of the 2012 E3 Expo in June, and the end of 2012.

The company had a strong presence at E3 earlier this year with the Wii U, and recent rumors suggest that Nintendo is getting set for a full re-reveal of the console at E3 2012, announcing the specifics of what to expect from the next generation of Nintendo consoles due to launch in 2012.
