How to Play the Battlefield 3 Beta

Top 10 Operation Metro Battlefield 3 Tips

So you are a first timer to the world of Battlefield?  Don't worry, DICE has you covered and has revealed a handful of tips to help you get adjusted during the Battlefield 3 beta.  Played on Operation Metro, the developer has revealed the following pro-tips to help you along your way.

DICE’S TOP 10 BATTLEFIELD 3 OPERATION MÉTRO TIPS

1) Stick to your team mates, and remember to spawn on them to stay close to the fight.
2) Use your kit specific abilities to help your team mates. Assault can hand out med kits, Engineers can repair vehicles, and Support can hand out ammo.
3) Make sure when you have armed an M-COM station, that you defend it to make sure it is destroyed.
4) The bombed-out tunnel section in Operation Métro is an excellent place to use a flashlight as one of your weapon attachments. Use it to light the tunnels up – and to blind your enemies.
5) Attach bipods to your weapon and deploy it automatically by pushing up against cover or going prone and zooming in – this gives you a huge increase in accuracy and stability.
6) Use suppressive shooting (fire close to enemies behind cover) to negatively effect the enemy’s fighting capabilities.
7) Watch out for falling debris as this can hurt you. But you can also hurt your enemies by taking out buildings with the Engineer’s RPG.
8) Shotguns are excellent for CQC (Close Quarters Combat) in the tighter tunnels sections.
9) Fire automatic weapons in short bursts for accuracy, or switch to single fire mode if applicable.
10) To grab your enemy’s dog tag as a souvenir, do a stealth knife kill from behind.

It would be helpful if the game would actually launch for me. I click on a server, BF3 pops up then quickly closes.

Yeah that’s fair it took CoD 1 to get me off Unreal Tournament back in the day but they don’t make FPS’s the way they used to :( .

If you are a BF veteran, this list is pretty pointless. Nevertheless good for new fans.

I’m loving this game so far. Been playing it for hours. Yeah, the servers do kinda suck right now, and getting connected through Origin was…weird. I still don’t really know how I did it. Its still a fun game though. I’ve been playing for about…Iunno, 6 hours or so.

And yeah, those tips are pretty useless to anyone who has played Battlefield xD

BF3 is REALLY well optimized on PC. With a gtx560Ti Im getting 40-60 frames on Ultra at 1920×1080. With similar settings I only get 30-40 frames on Crysis 2. And BF3 looks just as good if not better. Im loving this engine :)
+I dont use anti aliasing at 1920×1080. With that kind of resolution its barely noticeable.
