Activision Confirms Modern Warfare 3 season of content with calendar

Today marks the first day of downloadable content for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.   A content drop containing two new multiplayer maps released in the wee hours of the morning.  Activision has said that they will feature monthly content updates from now until September and today, the company has outlined those updates.

Here's what to expect.

Modern Warfare 3 Season of Content for Call of Duty Elite Members

February - 1 New Map
March - 1 New Map , 2 New Spec Ops Missions
April - 2 New Maps
May -  1 New Map, 1 New Mission
June - 1 New Map, 1 New Mission, 1 New Mode
July - 2 New Maps
August -  1 New Map, 1 New Mission, 1 New Mode
September - 1 New Map, 1 New Mission

You can find the full calendar here.

As for today, the Call of Duty Elite Drop 1 features Liberation, a militarized Central Park in the heart of NYC, featuring a vast landscape ripe for long-range sniper and LMG kills. Mounted turrets on opposing ends of the map offer overwhelming firepower to anyone brave enough to man them.  Elite Drop 2: Piazza, set in an idyllic seaside village, Italian getaway gone rogue, where blind corners and a complex network of branching pathways pose danger at every turn. Visceral close-quarters combat dominates in Piazza, and attacks from above and below are an ever-constant threat.

dont you have enough weapons already? would a another gun make more difference or bring something more substantial than a whole game mode, a map or a spec ops mission?

or do you want another model that has 2% of difference from a weapon you already have?
or do you want second world war weapons on MODERN WARFARE?

theres a range of weapons that basically produce the same effect. if the game already has 1 weapon among a certain group, theres no need to release its brothers and sisters that would impact in 1%, 2%…. NOTHING.

no one plays because of weapons. but because of game modes, achievements, and missions. weapons are a means to play, not the stars.

the same is felt on racing games, specifically nfs world. while it has almost nothing to offer, people only see cars, cars, cars, cars… even the game delivering almost nothing, they preserve the narrow vision.

New Mission? Do they mean more campaign? because that might be the first good idea Ive seen from a cod dlc in forever.

@ThatGuy your math is completely off.
    Cod4 – 1 DLC worth 4 maps. Total: 4 maps
W@W – 3 DLC worth 3 maps and a zombies map. Total: 9 maps and 3 zombie maps or 12 total.
    Mw2 – 2 DLC worth 5 maps. Total: 10 maps. (4 remade)
Blops: 3 DLC worth 4 maps and a zombies map. 1 DLC worth 5 zombies map. Total: 12 maps and 8 zombies maps or 20 total. (4 remade)
    Mw3: 12 maps, 6 missions, and 2 new game modes. Total: 18 maps/missions.

my conclusion, infinity ward is lazier than treyarch. also, im willing to bet the spec ops missions are going to be on non new maps.

Seems like 3-4 map packs spread out n it’ll probably cost more if bought all of them than if placed in map packs which means more money for Activision n those game modes are already in the game just need a 100kb patch to unlock it but oh well cod fanboys will buy anything no matter what price it is

another thing, 10 maps spread over 8 months is 1.25 maps a month. ive seen better output with better quality from modding communities…

    @That Guy no, it’s 20. Activision goes by the 5 maps/$15 since mw2. Black Ops had 4 DLC. 4 x 5 = 20.
    Rezzurrection:
Nacht der Untoten, Zombie Verrukt, Shi No Numa, Der Reise, Moon
    Annihilation:
    Shangri-La, Silo, Drive-In, Hanger 18, Hazard
    Escalation:
Call of the Dead, Zoo, Convoy, Hotel, Stockpile
    First Strike:
Ascension, Berlin Wall, Discovery, Kowloon, Stadium
