Multiplayer is a huge selling point for Battlefield 3, as any fan of the franchise can tell you.  The large sprawling battles that take place on the massive maps of any Battlefield game are an experience indeed, but how many maps will DICE cram into their latest game?

EA has revealed that there will be nine large multiplayer maps with five variations on each.  Each of the nine expansive maps in the game can be reconfigured depending on which game mode is being played, in five different ways. That totals a massive forty five map variations to ship with Battlefield 3.

Whether you are playing the new fast paced action of the classic inspired Team Deathmatch, the squad based combat of Squad Deathmatch, Objective based Rush, Squad Rush, or Conquest, you’ll be playing on different map orientations that cater to each mode.

The game will also carry over hardcore and non-hardcore options for each mode.   And new for Battlefield 3, the game will also give you the option to play with Infantry only, on the off-chance that you aren’t digging the dynamic vehicle combat.
