Call of Duty 2016 will be showcased at E3 in June inside the PlayStation booth this year. This is because Activision has decided not to have its own booth this time around.
Activision announced on its official blog: “In June, we’re going to be at E3 showcasing gameplay from Infinity Ward’s ambitious new game. We’re looking forward to sharing exciting new details about the next great Call of Duty game in partnership with our friends at PlayStation. We’re proud to be participating in this premier video game event, but won’t have an Activision booth on the show floor.”
This might be an indication that Activision does not have many major IPs to display this year aside from Call of Duty 2016. Some of its other franchises under-performed last year including Skylanders and Guitar Hero Live.
It’s rumored that Call of Duty 2016 will be Ghosts 2, but this has yet to be confirmed by either Activision or Infinity Ward. The only thing we do know is that a new Call of Duty game will be out later this year like always. The series is not taking a break like Assassin’s Creed and Disney Infinity.
Activision is not the only major game publisher without a booth at E3 2016. EA won’t have a booth either because it is organizing its own major event.
