Epic Games design director Cliff Bleszinski stated today at the developer’s Comic-Con panel that Fortnite will be the first title to utilize the prowess of the Unreal Engine 4.

“Next-gen’s here. It’s been here. It’s a high-end PC,” Bleszinski said. Back in May, Epic’s Unreal Engine 4 was previewed in Wired magazine, offering some astounding snippets of what the tech could provide for next-gen graphics.

Fortnite will be a post-apocalyptic, class-based, strategy-action survival game that seemingly blends elements from both Team Fortress 2 and Minecraft. The game will feature a day-and-night cycle in which players must explore the environment in daylight to find supplies and fortification pieces in order to prepare for the zombie/monster attacks at night.
