I am a huge GOW fan and have played and beat all three of them but you play them, you're amazed, you put it back on the shelf and it sits there. You might replay them maybe way down the road just for kicks, but other than that the replay value sucks. I haven't played Mass Effect and I am sure its great, but what gives it its edge is probably the replay value. Dude very true. The combat in ME2 sucks and to me its just boring and the story didnt interest me at all. Thats just my opinion and i dont really like rpgs. GOW3 has an interesting story but it is pretty much a hack n slash so i dont know who could win it. The replayability, branching decision options, and stellar gameplay make it the obvious choice. Having said that I have been looking forward to God of War III for years now. As great as it is, it does tend to be another button mashing fest which does get tiresome. The replay value is not there for the God of War. Mass Effect 2 delivered on the promise of the first game and leaves players hugely anticipating the conclusion of the trilogy. Hard to make a comparison between the two because they are two completely distinct play styles but for me it is no competition... ME2 GOTY. Mass Effect 2 has it hands down for me. I have GOW 1 and 2... but I just can't see myself getting as much out of GOW3 as I did ME2. A great game... but a rental. PLay it, be impressed, beat it. Next game. The game looks awesome and the graphcis are incredible, but I think we knew that was gonna be the case. The problems I have with it is the game play and the genre in general are pretty played out. When I look at videos from Alan Wake, that is a game I am getting excited for. It just looks like its full of new experiences. Defintely front running.
