In a new trailer released at Gamescom 2015 that exclusively looks at the multiplayer for the upcoming Xbox One game Halo 5: Guardians, Microsoft says that the game is “primed for players” and “perfected for pros”. The idea behind this slogan is the dual multiplayer styles featured in Halo 5: Guardians.
As we learned late last year with the Halo 5 Arena Multiplayer Beta, Halo 5: Guardians will feature a mode that is directly aimed at retaining the classic style of multiplayer that the series is known for. Keeping things simple with equal weapon starts along with weapons on the map that spawn at defined intervals.
Along with this comes the newly revealed Warzone multiplayer. This new mode is billed as 343 Interactive’s idea of the future of Halo multiplayer. Pitting huge teams against each other in a large map full of enemies, this mode acts more like a MOBA than it does the usual Halo multiplayer. By taking control of various bases, teams can swing the flow of combat.
By killing enemies, whether human controlled or not, players will gain currency that can be used to buy weapons or vehicles that can then be taken to the field of battle.
Halo 5: Guardians hits Xbox One on October 27th.
