Sony recently pushed the latest update out for PlayStation 3 players. Â Firmware update 4.45 apparently had some issues. Â PS3 users who were quick to download the new firmware have found that their systems have become bricks upon updating, and Sony has yet to officially issue a fix for the problem.
The system update is no longer required to access online content, and it’s expected that Sony will reissue a fixed version of the update in short order. Â As for those that have been affected by the firmware update that bricked your system, Â there’s no fix from Sony just yet.
According to reports from the PlayStation Community, the majority of those that were affected were using a third party HDD. Â Unfortunately, Sony isn’t saying anything about the bricked systems. Â The solution right now is to just wait it out. Â It’s expected that Sony will issue an update soon that will fix the issue.
