Luigi confirmed for Super Smash Bros

Today during a Nintendo Direct conference, Nintendo confirmed that Luigi will be included in the roster of fighters for Super Smash Bros. on both the Wii U and 3DS. While it was assumed that Luigi would be included in the game, given Nintendo’s refocus on the character this year, it hadn’t been confirmed until now.

The full Nintendo Direct broadcast can be found below, where Nintendo also revealed a new Animal Crossing Mii Community Hub for the Wii U, a release date for Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney, and some exclusive Nintendo content for Rayman Legends. No word though on whether or not Reggie Fils-Aime would be included in the Super Smash Bros. roster, after a fan petition prompted quite a bit of interest to have the often-memed Nintendo executive put into the game.

Super Smash Bros. does not have a concrete release date as of yet, but it’s shaping up to be a 2014 release.

Nintendo Direct August 7th, 2013
