Konami of Europe is warning consumers of a potentially game ending bug inside of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Apparently if you use Quiet, the female sniper that can accompany Snake on his missions, during Mission 29 or 42 then you run the risk of encountering the glitch. Once you do it has the potential to corrupt your save, possibly erasing dozens of hours of gameplay.

“[Important] Do not use Quiet while playing Mission 29 or 42, it may corrupt your save file!” reads the tweet, which then asks fans to retweet and share the news to help each other out. Konami will almost certainly fix the error, but until then the fewer players that encounter it, the better. No one wants to lose that much progress and have to start all over again.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain has had a relatively stable and fantastic launch. Players have been able to get right in and enjoy the game, which admittedly utilizes very few online resources. PC players especially have been happy, with the game being very well optimized for both ultra powerful and weaker systems.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is available now on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC.
