The Xbox Games Store may have inadvertently leaked the release date for EA’s new Need for Speed game.
As reported by Eurogamer, the Xbox Games Store revealed that Need for Speed will be out on November 3rd, 2015. This falls on a Tuesday so this is likely. Eurogamer notes the listing has now been removed. This is an indication the release date was real, but EA asked for it to be removed.
The listing also says there are five ways that you can play Need for Speed. The areas include: Speed, Style, Build, Crew and Outlaw. There will also be a story mode in the new game as well. You can carve out your own path and there are “multiple overlapping stories“. You will boost your reputation to become the “ultimate icon“.
Need for Speed was only announced last week and has been labeled as a reboot. EA notes the game is not Underground 3 in disguise. However, they note the game shares some of the same gameplay elements.
Anyway, a November 3rd, 2015 release date seems likely for Need for Speed. Previous games in the series have also been released during the busy Fall lineup. The series usually still sells very well so EA won’t be worried about competing with other games.
