The Xbox One Preview Program definitely has its perks for both gamers and Microsoft, as it provides gamers an early look at the future of Xbox One, while Microsoft gets help to test out the bugs ahead of time. The August update for Xbox One should be coming out relatively soon, but Preview members have now gotten yet another update to the previous August update.
The latest update, with OS xb_rel_1508-150806-2200, doesn’t add all that much, but is yet another fix on the way towards releasing the August update in full to everybody.
According to the details from the members only preview program forums, the two changes made in this latest update involve two completely different areas. The first is a fix with notifications that are not appearing correctly in some locations. This is good, so that gamers won’t miss out on invites to play or chat with their friends while in the affecting areas.
The other change is a fix to help with the force-closing of the Party Chat app at times. This likely wasn’t widespread, but certainly could be a pain if it keeps happening.
This new Xbox One update for preview members should automatically download and update your console, as long as you have the console to set to Instant-On. Every preview member should be able to download this and install already, with all waves having been disseminated already.
Stay tuned for details on the release of the full August update for everyone, as it should be coming very soon, though backwards compatibility is still not coming until November for non-preview members.
