Nintendo is well aware that they have competition with the rise of inexpensive and free games being offered on platforms like the iPad and iPhone devices. Reggie Fils-Aime recently talked about how his company plans to take the competition head on and why Nintendo will ultimately come out on top.

“You win with great content, and we’re fortunate to have franchises like Mario, like Zelda, like Donkey Kong. All of these great franchises really motivate consumers to buy the software, and what they’re looking for is an in-depth, great experience, and that’s what we offer.”

It is definitely true that you get more from an experience like the ones mentioned above. Games like Zelda or Mario brothers offer a lasting and memorable time,  but the word Free does just have a certain ring to it, that keeps people coming back time and time again.
