Great news for people who own Payday 2 on Steam, as it has just been revealed that the new SteamOS version of the game will be available to them for free. It will also be free for those who own an Alienware Steam Machine or for those who purchase one.

To make matters even better, developer Overkill has also revealed that the game is free to play this week, with the game also receiving a special promotion that gives the game a 75% off discount. The promotion runs until March 31st, allowing you to purchase the game for $4.99.

The game is a four-player co-op shooter that puts you in control of the Payday crew as they embark on a crime spree in Washington DC. The game recently got a Goat Simulator Heist DLC pack, which packs a new shotgun, 4 new melee weapons, new masks and a lot more.

Payday 2 originally launched in August of 2013, garnering mostly positive reviews from Steam users.
