Blizzard has just announced that Diablo III has been officially delayed. Originally targeting an early 2012 release, Blizzard has pushed the game into the second quarter of the year. This could mean a launch window ranging anywhere from April to June for a release date for the title.

Blizzard recently announced that they would be making significant changes to the game, some that had many already predicting this extended delay.

The Diablo III beta has brought about many changes to the game according to Blizzard.  Utilizing community feedback, the development team decided to rework “core character attributes” and “combat algorythms”, a process that is obviously proving to be time consuming.

Jay Wilson of Blizzard was recently quoted as saying:  “We’ve been called out for messing around with the systems too much. Our job isn’t just to put out a game, it’s to release the next Diablo game.  No one will remember if the game is late, only if it’s great.” on the subject of delays.
