Sony will release another firmware update this week with the system software update 4.0. The software update will prepare the PlayStation 3 for the PS Vita launch which will tap into the console for content management. PS Vita users will be able to use the PS3 to copy games, music, photos and other media and share the date between the two consoles.
Less the PS Vita features, 4.0 will also give PS Plus members a handful of new features that allow disabling automatic updates, patches, system software, and trophy sync. New PSN privacy settings will allow players to filter friend requests and messages.
Look for the update later this week.
