Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire has been out for a few months now, but the game has been getting all the more interesting lately with a few event Pokemon. Rather than offering a legendary or some other special Pokemon, they are instead giving us the Generation V starters, with some special abilities. Last week, we got the Grass type Serperior and now we have yet another with Emboar.
The Fire type Emboar is the fully evolved form of the starter Tepig, who offers one of the strongest set of moves amongst the Fire starters. Emboar is a beast in its own right, but this one is even more powerful, thanks to the special hidden ability Reckless.
Reckless specifically powers up moves that have recoil damage. As a result, Emboar comes equip with a set of moves that take full advantage. Flare Blitz is one of the strongest Fire attacks as is, though with recoil damage, so Reckless makes it even stronger. The same goes for the Normal type attacks Head Smash and Take Down. In addition, Emboar has the move Hold Back as well.
To acquire this level 50 Emboar in Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, the process works just about the same as with Serperior. Fire up your copy of Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire and rather than starting the game, choose “Mystery Gift,” followed by “Receive Gift” and lastly “Get With Code.” Now enter the code “pokemon500,” since Emboar is number 500 in the Pokedex. After this, just head to any Pokemon Center and speak with the delivery girl to receive Emboar.
This code went live earlier in Europe and Australia, following a prior Japanese release, but now the US code is live. Make sure not to miss out on this special event for Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, as it won’t last forever.
