PSVR Restocks May Be Coming To The UK Next Month

by on January 9, 2017

PlayStation VR finally released back in October following up on the release of the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive earlier in the year. Prior to the launch of the system, most retailers sold out of pre-orders in no time, with PSVR being near impossible to get since its release. However, there may be some restocks in sight, at least in the UK.

According to a poster on the PSVR subreddit, they spoke with a customer service representative at Amazon UK about their existing PSVR order they had placed. When inquiring, they stated that the estimated shipping date for them would be somewhere between February 4 and February 18. There were previous reports of potential PSVR restocks in Europe via regional retailer Tesco, as well as Amazon UK soon, so Amazon UK getting restocks in February would fit.

As we saw previously with hard to get products like amiibo, Amazon customer service reps do not always know everything when it comes to when items are being restocked for sure, but Pure PlayStation also contacted Amazon UK with different user accounts and received the same response about when they were expecting to be shipping more PSVR units, so it sounds like this is the response they are giving everyone. Hopefully this ship date will be more than to fulfill existing orders that people have placed and will actually have a decent amount for people to order.

These reports of restocks so far have been specific to Europe, so hopefully the US will get some more official restocks soon. Units have been popping up in stores like Target and Walmart over the last few months very sporadically, but it seems that Sony has essentially been selling every unit they manufacture and send to retailers in almost no time.

On the other side, if you were potentially looking to sell off your PSVR for close to full price or more due to non-use, this may be the time to do so. With a big game like Resident Evil 7 coming with exclusive VR support with PSVR, you’d think they will try their best to get more out soon, so hopefully that will be the case.
