Rocket League gets its second major free DLC update today which will begin the official competitive season, along with a number of other changes and improvements. The start of Rocket League Season 1 also means that the pre-season ranks are getting reset, so say goodbye to your hard-fought leaderboard rank.
Along with the start of Season 1 of Rocket League, Psyonix has included some big improvements for the game in Update 1.05. First up, you’ll be able to load right into a new Ranked match without going back to the menu, PC players can filter out PS4 players if they wish, and ranks are being split into three tiers within the already established Bronze, Silver, and Gold ranks.
Psyonix is also beginning to offer in-game rewards for reaching these high tier ranks. Once the season concludes at a yet unknown later date, players with higher tier ranks, meaning Silver, Gold, or Platinum, will receive “special reward items at the Season’s end”. Season 1 is said to last for the next several months, with an end date that will be announced long in advance.
This isn’t all that this update contains though, there are new Community and Country Flags that you can use to decorate your car, and a few smaller improvements to the game. To see if all head here for the full patch notes of Rocket League Update 1.05.
