Star Wars: The Force Awakens released back in December to rave reviews and very well deserved box office success. At the time, the only game with any movie related content was the Disney Infinity 3.0 playset, but the content was very lacking. Luckily, LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens was announced and now we have some official gameplay footage in a new video.
Exclusively from IGN, the first eight minutes of footage for LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens has been released and it looks like a near perfect recreation so far.
The LEGO series of games has been excellent at taking scenes from the movies they are based upon and creating almost exact replicas in the LEGO art style.
This first video shows that off very well with the first scene from the movie where Poe Dameron is trying to acquire a piece of a map to find Luke Skywalker when the First Order arrives and a skirmish occurs.
After this, we see the footage jump ahead a little further to the point where Poe Dameron is broken out of prison and we get footage of a space battle that looks like it will be a lot of fun.
You can check out the exclusive footage for the game below and look for LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens to release on June 28 for most platforms.
