Amiibo have quickly become one of the biggest parts of Nintendo’s gaming market, with the Super Smash Bros. line being the biggest thus far. It seems most games coming out from Nintendo seem to have some integration and of course they have announced that Star Fox Zero will as well.
As revealed during today’s brand new Nintendo Direct, Star Fox Zero will indeed have amiibo support, though only one part of it has been revealed thus far.
By using the Fox amiibo from the Super Smash Bros. line on your Wii U GamePad, you will unlock the classic Arwing from the original SNES Star Fox game.
This is something really neat for those that own the Star Fox amiibo already, which thankfully become much more possible to get after it became incredibly rare for awhile.
They did reveal that other amiibo would have some sort of support for Star Fox Zero was well, but they did not go into any details on those specifically. They also did not have any mention of the previously talked about Arwing amiibo from the past, so we don’t know if that will be still coming or might have ended up being too ambitious of a project.
