The Steam Summer Sale has begun

by William Schwartz on July 12, 2012

The Steam Summer Sale has begun and Gabe is slashing prices in an everything must go fashion.  The Steam Summer sale is offering daily deals during the event, flash sales and community choice sales, where the Steam community can vote on popular games to get a discount.

While the Steam Store buckled under early morning pressure of a stampede of rabid gamers looking for deals, it seems to be stabilized now.  There are also a ton of game collections up for grabs.  If you are looking to secure games in bundles and are willing to pony up a little more cash, Activision, Ubisoft, 2K, THQ, and Bethesda all have bundled content offered in the sale for $49.99.

As is normally the case, those looking to get the most bang for the buck need to be astute shoppers.  The best deals come in the form of the “daily deals” and you never know if the title you want may be on sale the next day, so it’s a good practice to wait it out.

I was thinking THQ bundle. Saints Row 3, Metro 2033, Darksiders, Company of Heroes Homefront and Stalker for $49.99. Now thats a good deal.

Not really when you compare it to… lets say, the Bethesda bundle for the same price.
