Usually the buffer screen that launches when players log into Black Ops II online is filled with messages for the game which have consisted of playlist updates and advertisements to try out new features and purchase content. Â Today it has been updated to wish Call of Duty players a Happy Holidays.
More specifically, a note to Call of Duty veterans to take it easy on the “Christmas Noobs”.
“Let’s talk Christmas Noobs. Â It’s that time of the year again where thousands of new players join the online ranks for the first time. Â We’d ask you to go easy on the Christmas Noobs, but we know you won’t.
If you are Christmas Noob yourself, don’t be bullied. Â In the Combat Training category you’ll find a great playlist called Boot Camp. Â This is the best place for a new player to get up to speed on the game and all it has to offer. Â You can even rank up your first 10 levels playing against both human and AI-controlled opponents.”
Christmas is always an interesting time for the Call of Duty community.  When Call of Duty 4 arrived, the influx of new players to Xbox Live during the holiday caused serious server issues on the service  that persisted for days.  With so many widespread reports of connection issues with this latest game, let’s just hope that the game’s new matchmaking service holds up.
