The voice for Nathan Drake in Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, Nolan North, gave his opinion on why the character is a PlayStation icon.
PlayStation Access had a chance to recently interview Nolan North and they asked him what makes Nathan Drake the “Ultimate PlayStation Hero”.
The first reason North gave is that Drake is a resilient character. He gave an example that the character can “take a punch“. He says the character always gets beaten up, but comes back for more. Although Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End will be the character’s last outing.
North also said Drake is “ruggedly handsome” and that’s why so many gamers like the character too. Drake is not too much like a perfect pretty boy so he appeals to more people.
The third reason is that he’s strong. North said Drake has tremendous
upper body strength. The video shows gameplay footage of the many times he’s had to literally climb out of danger. Climbing will also be a huge factor in Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End as well.
Another quality that makes Drake so appealing is his honesty and integrity. North said Drake may be a thief, but he’s an honest thief that steals for “the right reasons“.
Lastly, North said the character is “human” and people can relate to him easily. He also added Drake is a funny and humorous character too.
