World of Warcraft: Cataclysm is apparently very popular.  In fact, so popular that nearly 3.3 million copies of the game were sold in it’s first 24 hours.  These numbers indicate that Cataclysm is the fastest selling PC game of all time which was stated by Blizard Entertainment.

This latest expansion of the largely successful MMO was released on December 7th, 2010 worldwide.  Heralded as the “best expansion yet”, Cataclysm annihilated the previous record of 2.8 million copies with it’s Wrath of the Lich King.  This dwarfs even their own efforts in their earlier 2010 release of StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty.

World of Warcraft is a subscription based gaming service that bolsters more than 12 million people worldwide.

Check back for our WoW: Cataclysm review which is currently a work in progress…an addictive..beautiful..work in progress.
