Xbox One Background Music App Finally Released

Xbox One Backwards Compatibility List

Ever since the Xbox One arrived, one of the most highly requested features for the console has been background music. Now, thanks to a new app on the Xbox Store, you can finally get this feature for yourself. The Simple Background Music Player app is available for free, so just get it and you’re dream of Xbox One background music will become real.

To get the app just open up the Store on your Xbox, navigate to the apps section, and search for background. It should be one of the first results that you see. Unfortunately, unlike games there is no way to find the app and install it from the Xbox.com website.

We haven’t got to mess with the app just yet, so after that you are on your own. According to the name, the whole process should be pretty “simple”, so just mess with it a bit and you should be all set for your Xbox One background music needs.

Now the big question is, what music will you use this to play? Personally I always preferred the in-game music, but when it came to racing or sports games, some more upbeat music was sometimes in order. I once had a very epic moment in Burnout on Xbox while listening to the car chase scene theme from The Matrix Reloaded. Good times.
