The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is an incredibly massive game with hundreds of hours worth of content that most gamers still haven’t experienced all of yet, but developer CD Projekt Red is already working on the follow-up with Cyberpunk 2077. In fact, the release of the game may not be as far off as originally imagined, if a new report is to be believed.

The report comes from Gamereactor Germany, where they claim that Cyberpunk 2077 is aiming for a release in late 2016 for PC. Interestingly enough there is no console release discussed, though the lack of details on the console versions could simply be due to lack of information on their part. The Witcher 3 was a massive success on consoles, so it isn’t a stretch to expect a release for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, as well.

It seems a little unlikely that the game would be ready that quickly, however, especially considering that Cyberpunk 2077 is supposed to be even bigger than The Witcher 3 and more content for The Witcher 3 is still being released in the form of expansions.

Even so, it’s certainly something that we should keep our eyes on and see if the developers chime in with their thoughts on the matter in the future.
