Rumor: Zelda Coming to Wii U and NX; Features Voice Acting

The rumor mill is a buzz again, and this time the next Legend of Zelda game is the focus. Rumors coming from Emily Rogers suggest that Legend of Zelda will be coming to both the Wii U and Nintendo’s NX system, similar to how Twilight Princess launched on both the Gamecube and Wii. Whenever the NX does launch, having a Legend of Zelda game as a launch title would be a smart move on Nintendo’s’ part.

Another rumor reveals that the game will feature full voice acting for NPCs in the game. Most characters will be voiced, except for our hero Link of course. As far as rumors go this one is pretty exciting, especially for a Zelda game. Our green armored protagonist Link has remained quiet through out his thirty year history, so it’s fitting he remains silent in his next adventure as well. However; having NPCs speak in the game could actually work out, granted their lines have good delivery and dialogue.

Finally, the last part of the rumor says that players will be able to choose between a female and male playable character. There is no mention if Link will have a female counterpart, just a different gender to chose as a playable character in the game. How this fits into the games’ story and lore is unknown, but nonetheless still interesting to see unfold if it turns out to be true. Legend of Zelda series producer Eiji Aonuma, said the flavor for the next Zelda game “will be like going from Japanese food to Western style food. Perhaps, players will be surprised.” Maybe having a female playable character in a Zelda game could be that very surprise, as well as the rumored voice acting in the game.

Nintendo is keeping the lid shut on the next Zelda title for the time being, revealing very scarce information and footage for the game. But with E3 coming up, we predict to see a full Zelda blowout. Legend of Zelda is scheduled to arrive on the Wii U in 2016, with no specific release date revealed. Stay tuned to hear more about the next Legend of Zelda adventure!
