The Kickstarter-funded isometric RPG, developed by Obsidian, has finally shed the ‘Project’ from its name and named itself Pillars of Eternity. The titular pillars can be witnessed stylishly reflecting the game’s scenery in the latest trailer, also included in the developer’s latest backer update. Despite being branded as a teaser trailer, we get more than just a cursory glimpse of a crystalline surface. The fantastic trailer shows off various enemies, spells and sceneries, including the area first seen in the game’s very first screenshot.
The game’s website has also seen a makeover, and now includes a backer’s portal, where you can manage your pledge in various ways. If you backed the game, either through Kickstarter or PayPal, it’s worth looking into.
Finally, fans of the upcoming RPG have requested many open areas, which Obsidian stated are very time-consuming for developers. At the same time, they have suggested the possibility to provide additional stretch goals, should the idea prove popular amongst those anticipating the game.
