Xbox Live Games with Gold has had some rough patches, but overall fans have been pretty happy with the service. With it members get an assortment of games for free each month, similar to the PlayStation Plus Instant Game Collection. The games change out each month, so keeping track of what is available, and what you want can be tough.
This is why we’ve created this handy guide, displaying exactly what games are free on Xbox One & Xbox 360 for the given month. Some titles will be available all month long, some only half, while others might continue to be offered for several months (looking at you Pool Nation FX).
As long as you have an active Xbox Live Gold membership you can buy the games for free, adding them to your account whether you download them or not. Because of this you’ll want to be sure to add any game to your account that you might ever want, whether you wish to play it now, or even if you own the system in question.
Something else to note is that all future Xbox 360 Games with Gold games will be backwards compatible, so be sure to add them, even if you only own an Xbox One. The Xbox One games will be inaccessible if you let your Xbox Live Gold membership expire, but Xbox 360 games are yours forever.
