Last week saw all of the main broadcast networks reveal their lineups for the fall at the various upfront presentations, with Supergirl easily being one of the most discussed. We even got a nearly seven minute first look that showed off many events from the pilot that garnered a lot of praise from inner circles, which had fans excited for the new series. However, the Supergirl pilot is now out there on the internet in full as it has leaked.
Starred Melisa Benoist as the title character, the series is set to debut in November on Mondays at 8 pm upon the moving of The Big Bang Theory to Thursday after CBS Thursday Night Football is over for the season. The leaked Supergirl pilot was reported to have appeared online around 3 am yesterday by Variety, which reports that it is in full 1080p and without any sort of watermark. This differs from the usual leaked pilots, like last year’s The Flash and Constantine, which were in lower quality and with watermarks.
The fact that the leaked Supergirl pilot was released in such high quality without watermarks almost makes you wonder if CBS purposely made this leak happen to get the buzz going. They could have seen just how well it worked for The Flash last year, leading to one of the highest rated premieres in CW history, and decided to make the leak. We’ll never truly know if that is the case however. The official release of the Supergirl pilot will come this November on CBS at 8 pm.
