There are a total of 28 chapters in The Artful Escape and from the very beginning, you can revisit them if you know how to replay chapters. While most chapters have no real replay value unless you are achievement hunting or want to see the story again, the ones where you can adjust Francis’ identity as well as customize his outfit can lead to humourous or just bizarre replays. With that out of the way, here’s everything we know on how to replay chapters in The Artful Escape.

How To Replay Chapters in The Artful Escape

To replay chapters in The Artful Escape, press the start (pause) button at any point and move down to chapter select. You’ll see every chapter available to go back to as well as their titles which give a hint to what part of the story they are for. Select any of them and confirm to load up the point in the story chosen. See below for a few notes on how the chapter select function works and how you can use it.

Back to The Future’s Past

The chapter select lets you go back and forth without consequence. For example, if you head back to chapter 18 to change your look, when chapter 19 starts you’ll be in your new threads. Unfortunately, any customization defined in later chapters does not apply to prior ones. So you can’t change your look and head back to Calypso at the start of the story to wow the townsfolk. The chapter select function can be used to:

  • Change your look – As mentioned, once you unlock chapter 18, you can head there any time to customize to your heart’s content. Just be sure to finish it out so the changes stick.
  • Achievement Hunt – There are a number of achievements that are chapter-specific so utilize this to max out all chievos.
  • Change Francis’ identity – You can revisit the intergalactic talk show and change your answers.
  • Experience your favorite story moments again

The Artful Escape is available now for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Game Pass, and PC.
