Batman Arkham Knight

The highly anticipated conclusion to Rocksteady’s Arkham trilogy, Batman: Arkham Knight, has been delayed by a few weeks. The previous worldwide launch date was June 2nd, but that has been pushed back to June 23rd. The announcement was made via the game’s official Twitter account and through the latest gameplay trailer that you can watch below. No explanation was given as to the cause for the delay.

We are pleased to announce our new release date – Batman: Arkham Knight will officially launch worldwide on 06.23.15

This will be the second delay for Batman: Arkham Knight. The first took it from October 2014 all the way to June 2015. This new delay will likely be more well received in comparison. The cause is most likely to give the team more time to polish the game. Gamers have become frustrated with the launch state of many AAA games of late, which has made publishers and developers more prone to take the extra time to do full bug testing before launch.

One, possibly unintended consequence of this new delay is that it puts the game’s release after this year’s E3 conference. This should give press some time with the game before release, so keep an eye out for hands-on previews from the event. We’ll be there and will try to get all the info about Batman: Arkham Knight and all the other big games of the show this June.

Batman: Arkham Knight will launch on June 23rd for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
