Bioshock Infinite has finally got an official release date. Â Today, Irrational Games announced that the game will arrive on October 16th, 2012. Â Ken Levine had this to say about the announcement: Â “After Bioshock, we had a vision for a follow up that dwarfed the original in scope and ambition…Bioshock Infinite has been our sole focus for the last four years, and we can’t wait for fans to get their hands on it,” the Creative Director said.
Bioshock Infinite will launch in October on the PlayStation 3, PC, and Xbox 360
Depending on where you choose to play Bioshock Infinite, you may have different gameplay experiences. Â Irrational has already announced that they will be incorporating the PlayStation Move controller into the game, but has yet to divulge any information about how the PS Move will integrate with the game. Â On the PlayStation 3, Irrational is also including a copy of the original Bioshock on the Bioshock Infinite Blu-ray disc. Â So you’ve definitely got some added bonuses for going with the PlayStation 3 version of the game.
No bonuses for PC or Xbox 360 players have been announced at this point, but this beautiful game should be more than worth your while, bonuses aside. Â If you missed the extended footage of the game from last year, you catch that below, but I’m sure Irrational will be releasing more about the shooter in the coming weeks and months leading up to launch.
October 16th is the North American release date, while international players will see an October 19th release.
