Call of Duty: Ghosts will arrive on the Wii U this November, despite speculation that Activision would pass on this year’s offering due to sluggish sales of the new console in 2013. If their first offering on the Wii U, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is any indication, Ghosts should be decent on the platform, and at least up to par with the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game.
Activision did not release any console specific details about Ghosts on the Wii U, but did confirm their commitment to the platform by also announcing five other games for Nintendo’s home console. The publisher announced Sklanders Swap Force, Angry Birds Trilogy, Angry Birds Star Wars, Sponge Bob Square Pants: Plankton’s Robotic Revenge, and Wipeout Create & Crash.
Perhaps Activision sees a strong holiday season in the cards for Nintendo? The Wii U has seen its share of troubles in 2013, mostly due to a lack of software support from third party developers and Nintendo themselves. Later this week, Pikmin 3 kicks off what is deemed to be the first of many big first party games from Nintendo for the Wii U.
Call of Duty: Ghosts will arrive on November 5th for the Wii U.
