PlayStation 3 downloadable title, Journey, won six of the eleven main awards at GDC ’13. Jenova Chen and thatgamecompany walked away with awards for Best Game Design, Best Audio, Best Visual Arts, Best Downloadable Game, the Innovation Award, and Game of the Year.
It doesn’t come as a huge shock that Journey was at the top of developer lists in 2012, but they did have familiar company. Arkane Studios’ Dishonored was also awarded with the “Audience Choice” award, Telltale’s The Walking Dead won for Best Narrative, and Far Cry 3 was honored with Best Technology. Faster than Light was also recognized by the judges for having the Best Debut.
GDC ’13 continues on until Friday, an in-case you missed today’s other big news out of the convention, Hideo Kojima revealed Metal Gear Solid V as the spawn of Ground Zeroes and The Phantom Pain.
