Madden NFL 15 Correctly Predicted The Final Score Of The Super Bowl

by Dean James

As the Super Bowl has now come and gone, the 2014-2015 NFL season is officially over. However, gamers can still get their football fix courtesy of Madden NFL 15 all offseason long. To coincide with large events like the Super Bowl, EA Sports typically utilizes their own game to predict the outcome, but no one could have predicted just how accurate they would be this year.

Since starting these Madden matchups years ago, the predictions have been mostly correct at picking out a winner, though none was quite as close as with Super Bowl XLIX. Entering the game, the AFC champion New England Patriots were hot off a blowout win over the Indianapolis Colts while the NFC champion Seattle Seahawks had narrowly escaped Lambeau Field and the Green Bay Packers in overtime.

Both teams were near evenly matched in Madden NFL 15 as well, so most expected the game to be a close one. That helped with the EA Sports prediction that the Patriots would come out victorious over the Seahawks by a score of 28-24. Then at the end of the Super Bowl this evening, that is the exact same score that was on the scoreboard as the clock hit 0.

This isn’t some insane prediction, as it is pretty commonplace in football with four touchdowns versus three touchdowns and a field goal. However, it is still pretty neat that this one simulation by EA Sports managed to pick it exactly. EA Sports is on quite a roll right now with their picks, as they also predicted the winner between Silva and Diaz on Saturday, of which Silva won with a unaminous decision.
