Microsoft and Sony have been competing head-to-head since their first console reveals at E3, and the competition is increasing with each new feature that is revealed from both sides. Microsoft Studios corporate vice president Phil Spencer have stated in an interview done by The Guardian at Gamescom.
It’s good for the industry that there’s such high awareness
“I love it,” Spencer told The Guardian, “If you think back a couple of years, there were questions about whether big shows like this were meaningful and about where the business was going. I think about E3 this year as one of the most exciting I’ve been to, and 300,000 people will come through here! It’s good for the industry that there’s such high awareness,” he added. “And competition is good for gamers. Head to head in the same month? It’s going to be exciting.”
From the other point of view of Sony’s UK managing director Fergal Gara responded by:
“While others have shifted their message and changed their story,” said House in front of a global audience waiting on tenterhooks for him to announce the PlayStation 4 launch date, “we were consistent in maintaining a message that is fair and in tune with consumer desires.” and “other people will do and say what they’re going to say. Fine.”
We’re still a few months away from the launch of either console. Sony has confirmed the launch of the PlayStation 4 on November 15th, while Microsoft hasn’t confirmed, but has alluded to a November release for the Xbox One.
