You won’t have to play many rounds of Modern Warfare 3 to join the growing group of groaning FPS players that are wondering how or why they just got killed by someone spawning right next to them.  The spawn logic system has also caused quite a problem for “spawn campers” or teams of players that work together to game the logic system in Modern Warfare 3 to trap players in certain segments of a map.  In an extreme case, one gamer racked up what he believes to be a “world record” with 144 kills, all from trapping the enemy team in their spawn. (*Note World Record was for Douchebaggery)

A new Modern Warfare 3 patch releasing today will address these issues.  You can expect the download around 2AM Pacific, and can expect it to change the logic behind the spawning system in the game. Robert Bowling bid adieu to “Revenge Spawns” via Twitter.

January will also see Modern Warfare 3’s first map pack hit Xbox Live for Elite Users.  Specific timing of the PS3 release hasn’t been announced, but some think that PS3 elite players will get the content at or around the same time as Xbox users.
