Plants vs. Zombies initially started as a simple tower defense game on PC and transitioned to mobile and gaming systems from there. After a successful sequel, the series made a very risky move to the shooter genre and now the sequel is coming with Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2, which has an open beta coming very soon.
Courtesy of the official Plants vs. Zombies Twitter account, we got a brand new trailer this morning to announce details about the game’s open beta that for now is exclusive to Xbox One and PlayStation 4, so PC gamers sadly won’t be able to join in this time.
The trailer does a great job at showing off the humor and pure fun that we can expect in not only the upcoming beta, but also the full game. For those interested in the beta, it will be starting a week from today on Thursday, January 14 and will run through that weekend until Monday, January 18.
This sounds like it will be a solid window of time for us to check out the game and see what kind of improvements and additions have been made on the original.
The full game of Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 will be arriving next month on February 23, so this open beta will be able to give us just a taste to entice people to pick up the game when it releases.
