There’s a new firmware revision available for PlayStation 3 owners that will bring some optional “stability” to your console.  PS3 firware update 3.73 is completely optional at this point if you don’t feel like upgrading your system.  Sony claims that the update simply adds better stability for the use of “certain PS3 format software”, but in their announcement didn’t detail what that means exactly.

So, on the off chance you are experiencing a instabilities in “certain PS3 format software”, you may want to give firmware 3.73 a try.

The firmware can be manually downloaded and installed from the PlayStation site, or downloaded via your PlayStation 3.
