The PlayStation Vita has finally gotten one its most desired apps, as Skype launched on the handheld just a short while ago. The video conferencing and communication app arrives on the PS Vita to expand the handheld’s offering as a communications tool, aside from the stellar mobile gaming experience to be had on the handheld.
Skype on the PS Vita offers video calling capabilities and voice calling functionality on both Wi-Fi and 3G models, and can be downloaded now from the PS Store Hub on the device.
“With the launch of Skype for the PS Vita, we are taking another step towards our ultimate goal of making Skype video calling available on every platform, all over the world,” said a representative for Skype upon the app’s release.
Skype is a free download for all PSN members.
