So what does the man behind one of the most highly regarded games of E3 2011 think about his competition? Well according to the creative director behind Bioshock: Infinite, Ken Levine, he was most impressed by the likes of Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Star Wars: The Old Republic, and Uncharted 3 according to a recent interview.
Levine claimed the games to be beautiful in his comments.
“I mean Skyrim is beautiful, and Uncharted 3 is beautiful, and The Old Republic is gorgeous,” Levine told Nowgamer. “It’s incredible to see the level of quality these guys can deliver, and they’re also really good guys, they’re not dicks.”
“It’s not like another industry where people are snapping at each other, and whatever they’re doing, they’re doing something right,” he added. “In terms of quality standards at Irrational, we treat our developers like adults, and we expect them to act like adults.
“When they come with an idea, we expect them to have thought it through, and sort of beat up on it themselves before they take it up the chain.”
Bioshock Infinite didn’t look to bad itself, and if you missed what Irrational Games showed to the press at the convention here’s the full 12 minutes of Bioshock gameplay that took the gaming world by storm in June.
