With the release of Gran Turismo 6 just around the corner, and Sony’s need to push consumers towards their PS Vita handheld, some thought that at PS Vita version of Gran Turismo 6 could be in the cards.  This weekend, Sony’s Shuhei Yoshida explained that this is unlikely due to it being “really hard”.

In an interview with IGN, the often sleepy Yoshida explained:  “The PS Vita is a very powerful portable system, but not quite as powerful as PS3.  As you can tell looking at GT6, it really is using PS3 to a very high level.  So it’s going to be really hard to move GT6 onto PS Vita.”

But while Yoshida is ruling a full native version of the game on the PS Vita, the game could arrive via the streaming options that Sony announced earlier this year.  Sony announced that PS4 games would be playable on the PS Vita via Gaikai streaming, but, we’re gonna need to have a PS4 version of GT6.

Polyphony has mentioned it recently, and this next-gen version of the game might be the only way Vita owners end up playing Gran Turismo, at least in the near future.
