The console makers might not be letting anything slip about next generation consoles, but publishers are starting to prepare for them. Â Xbox 720 (a tenative name) and PS4 (also tenative) haven’t even been close to announced yet. Â Although a recent job listing has Microsoft searching for engineers for a project that could be looked at as the next gen console, Sony has recently come out against a next generation console anytime soon.
But Square Enix is preparing for the next generation allready by opening a new studio in Canada. Â The employees of the new studio are said to be scheduled to work on “large scale games for new generations of home consoles.” Â The studio is said to house 100 employees, although a definitive location has not been settled on. Â Up in the air right now, Vancouver, Toronto, and Montreal which they already have one development house in Eidos Montreal.
