Capcom has plans to release future Street Fighter games for the PS4 and Xbox One, but it sounds like the Wii U is going to be left out again.
A fan asked if the series would eventually be released for the PS4 and Xbox One. Street Fighter producer Yoshinori Ono tweeted a simple “”Hahaha, some time or other… :P”. This may be a hint a future Street Fighter game will be released on the newer consoles. When they will be out is anyone’s guess.
Another fan asked Ono if a Street Fighter game will be out for Wii U. Ono apologized and stated Capocm doesn’t have any plans for Wii U right now.
The Wii U cannot catch a break right now. EA isn’t releasing its FIFA or Madden games for the Wii U. As for Ubisoft, they’re not releasing Assassin’s Creed games. Now Capcom has no plans for Street Fighter on the console too.
Speaking of Street Fighter, it might take a long time for the fifth game to come out anyway. Capcom just released Ultra Street Fighter IV this year which was only out on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3. Whereas we are getting Mortal Kombat X and Tekken 7 next year, Capcom is taking its sweet time for a proper new Street Fighter game…
