It is finally time. The adventure that began last December with the release of Telltale’s The Walking Dead Season 2 has come to a close with the release of The Walking Dead Season 2: Episode 5 “No Going Back”. The season finale has become available for download on PS3, PS Vita, PC and Mac. The storefronts are currently being updated so if it isn’t immediately available just give it some time and check back. Other platforms will have to wait longer as Xbox 360 will get the game tomorrow, and iOS on Thursday.
While you wait you might want to check out the amazing trailer that was released leading up to The Walking Dead Season 2: Episode 5. It doesn’t spoil anything about the season finale, but does show scenes from all previous episodes, along with an exclusive flashback featuring Clementine. Telltale has put a heavy emphasis on the development of Clementine throughout the series, and it has all led here where “your choices will decide Clementine’s fate in the gripping conclusion of The Walking Dead: Season Two.”
The Walking Dead Season 3 has been confirmed, so while this will be the last Walking Dead content for a while, more will come eventually. Whether Clementine, or anyone else from Season 1 and 2 will be involved is not certain, but very likely given the attachment most players have with many of them.
Before The Walking Dead Season 3 hits Telltale will likely be moving to other franchises. Tales of the Borderlands seems to be their next project as it is already scheduled for release later this year. After that will likely be Game of Thrones which Telltale’s Director of PR teased today with the promise of having “something soon for Game of Thrones fans”. Still no word on a followup season for The Wolf Among Us leading many to speculate that Telltale will not be continuing the adventures of Bigby and Snow.
