Xbox One Rise Of The Tomb Raider Not Held Back By Xbox 360 Version

Rise of the Tomb Raider had a major showing at E3 this year across two conferences and plenty of availability on the show floor. While everyone is talking about the game for Xbox One, Rise of the Tomb Raider is also coming to Xbox One. Even though some have been worried the last-gen version could hold back the Xbox One version, it sounds like that shouldn’t be a concern.

Often times, we have seen cross-gen games feel like they were ultimately built for the older generation console with the newer ones feeling like simple graphical upgrades. This happened with series like Call of Duty and others within the first year of the latest console generation, which made people worry when it was announced that Rise of the Tomb Raider would be cross-gen at E3 last year.

Games have been getting better by having other developers handle the last-gen version and in an interview with GamingBolt, Rise of the Tomb Raider Game Director Brian Horton shot down any chances that the Xbox One version would be lesser as a result.

“Not at all. Nixxes have been long time partners with Crystal Dynamics and are completely focused on the Xbox 360 port of the game. We focused a 100% of our energy at Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal on making the highest quality game possible on the Xbox One. We are not holding ourselves back at all.”

It is good to hear Horton dismiss any idea that the game will be held back. A lot of last-gen versions of gamers have been being delayed of canceled as of late, but with Microsoft having a timed exclusivity to Rise of the Tomb Raider, I’m sure they will be making sure to get it out for both Xbox systems this holiday season.

Rise of the Tomb Raider will release for Xbox One and Xbox 360 on November 10.
